Philadelphia Ujima

 Welcome

You are probably asking, “What does Ujima mean”?

Ujima is the third of seven principles of Kwanzaa, a week-long celebration of African heritage and culture in the United States. It means, "collective work and responsibility; to build and maintain our community, while working with others to solve our problems". Philadelphia Ujima: Mind Spirit Body Health Collaborative does just that! We work with communities across Philadelphia, helping people develop and maintain healthy behaviors that will last a lifetime.

Philadelphia Ujima is funded by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services, Office on Women's Health.

HEART ATTACK 9-1-1

The Women's Health Education Program (Philadelphia Ujima) is one of the awardees for the Heart 9-1-1 Campaign.  The campaign, awarded by the Office on Women's Health, seeks to spread the word about the 7 signs and symptoms of a heart attack in women and what steps to take: mainly, CALL 911.

Over the next 6 months, Ujima will be spreading the word to women across the Philadelphia area.
